4. Energy meditation

 4. Energy meditation

I always do this exercise after Hatha and Kundalini yoga. In the beginning, it is best to set a time of a few minutes (for example ten). I recommend doing it as it is in the basic meditation instructions (JoS..stolen knowledge by Hooded Cobra (previous post)), but I add two things to it: a watch and the visualization of inhaling into the third eye with the inhale, and the expanding aura with the exhale. For me, it is like another breathing exercise, but lying down (spread out a blanket on which you practice breathing, or a sleeping pad).

Turn on the clock and place it so that it ticks somewhere close to your head (or metronome). This exercise, as well as breathing exercises, can be done in the field (using the energy of the Sun (just protect your eyes) and/or the Earth or the Moon at night, which I highly recommend). Set an alarm on your phone, but it is VERY IMPORTANT that it be a quiet and calm sound (and without vibrations, unless the phone is lying on something very soft and does not make any noise).

And here there will always be inhalation, holding and exhalation - for six (holding it when lying down is easier, so I don't think it would overwhelm anyone, and it's not about a breathing exercise, so there's no point in increasing the holding time (actually you can get this time lower, or eliminate, but it is not vor novices, because you couldn't stand those..'ants' - gradually..). When inhaling, try to feel that you are inhaling energy through your third eye (or another chakra, or your whole body, but it is probably best to start with the third one). It's difficult at first, but it gets better and better over time. Pausing is like resting (and contemplating the "inhaled" energy), and on exhaling, visualize bright energy illuminating your entire being (it is much easier on the Sun). Remember to focus on this; therefore, too long a time for start is not advisable. As you progress, you will also be able to easily visualize the energy you are inhaling.
